Hello, my name is Kate and I'm so glad you're here!

Kia ora! I'm Kate Watt, originally from Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Aotearoa (New Zealand). I recently wrapped up my final year studying Textile Design at Toi Rauwhārangi Massey University, and I’m eager to dive deeper into the world of material innovation and creative making.

I’ve always been drawn to hands-on creation—whether it’s designing textiles, experimenting with materials, or crafting the perfect cocktail (a skill honed while funding my studies and tackling those ever-persistent student loans). My work explores the intersection of traditional and contemporary techniques, blending textures, colors, and processes to push the boundaries of textile design.

This Portfolio is a collection of my work over the last few years both throughout my studies and at-home passion projects. It’s a documentation of my creative journey I am extremely proud of and that I look forward to adding to in the future.
